Rebecca M. Thibault Elected as Shareholder
Doherty, Wallace Pillsbury and Murphy, P.C. is proud to announce the election of Rebecca
M. Thibault as a Shareholder in the firm. Attorney Thibault joined Doherty, Wallace in
2013 and concentrates her practice in corporate law, including regulatory and compliance
matters, corporate transactions, education law, and environmental and employment
matters.

Massachusetts as part of Doherty, Wallace,’ said W. Garth Janes, Managing Partner.
Rebecca is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford Connecticut and the Washington
University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was the managing editor of the Washington
University Global Studies Law Review. She is a native of Northampton and serves on the board of Girls,
Inc. of Holyoke as well as other volunteer activities.

Diana Day Joins DWPM as Litigation Attorney
Doherty, Wallace, Pillsbury and Murphy, P.C. is happy to announce the hiring of Diana Day as a litigation attorney. Attorney Day joined Doherty, Wallace in February, 2021. She has an extensive background in state and federal litigation on behalf of individuals, small businesses, Fortune 100 companies, and
government agencies. Prior to joining the firm, Diana worked at a law firm in Phoenix, Arizona practicing business, insurance, and medical malpractice litigation. She then served in the public sector
as an attorney for both state and local governments, focusing on high-profile litigation involving elections and constitutional claims, public infrastructure projects, employment, personal injury, and wrongful death. She also served in the general counsel role for a public pension system with over $40 billion in assets under management. Diana is a member of the Defense Research Institute.

Career Path: Employment Law
Anjali S. Kumar is an attorney at Doherty, Wallace, Pillsbury & Murphy, P.C. Her practice focuses on a broad range of employment law matters, including wage and hour laws, employment discrimination, non-competition agreements, and leave laws. In addition, Ms. Kumar represents clients in a variety of business and civil litigation matters. Prior to joining Doherty, Wallace, Pillsbury and Murphy, P.C., Ms. Kumar worked at the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office in the Solicitor General’s Division and at a large law firm in Minneapolis. Ms. Kumar interned at the Minnesota Court of Appeals and clerked at county attorneys’ offices in Minnesota during law school.
She graduated from Hamline University School of Law, where she was on the Hamline Law Review and a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition team. Ms. Kumar earned her BA in Communications, with honors, from the University of Illinois–Urbana Champaign. She is on the board of directors of a local nonprofit, Link to Libraries. Additionally, she is on the board of directors of the Hampden County Bar Association (HCBA) and in the summer of 2020, formed the Racial Justice Committee of the HCBA. Ms. Kumar is also on the board of the Connecticut Asian Pacific Attorney Bar Association.

Associate Angelina Stafford presented at a seminar on estate and special needs planning techniques and considerations at Jericho (The Bureau for Exceptional Children) in Holyoke. The seminar was sponsored by Making Healthy Connections.
Associate Jesse Belcher-Timme has been named a member of the 2016 class of “40 under Forty” by BusinessWest in recognition of his professional accomplishments, service to his clients, and contributions to his community.

Associate Rebecca Thibault presented to business entrepreneurs on the topic of legal considerations for new business owners. The presentation was part of a workshop series sponsored by the Center for Women & Enterprise and was held in Springfield at the headquarters of Valley Venture Mentors.

Associate Rebecca Thibault presented at the Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA) Winter Workshop Series at the Kittredge Center at Holyoke Community College. The workshop focused on legal requirements for farm businesses, and Rebecca spoke about legal issues and employment law concerns relevant to farmers and their businesses.

The CPE Forum provides continuing education programs for CPAs and the Greater Springfield business community.
Doherty, Wallace celebrated the careers of four Shareholders, Paul S. Doherty, Philip J. Callan, Jr., Robert L. Leonard, and David J. Martel, with a dinner and reception at the Fort Restaurant in Springfield.
